Machine Elves are a rock band, based in New York City. Machine Elves is comprised of frontman Joey Calveri, rhythm guitarist Frank Fasano, lead guitarist Eric Yip, bassist Howie Blatz, and drummer Tommy Mitchell. Tommy, Eric, Frank and Howie are all veterans of the Brooklyn music scene with years of experience under their belts. Calveri is a veteran theater performer who has been featured in several popular shows, including Queen's "We Will Rock You" and as Stacee Jaxx in Broadway’s "Rock Of Ages". These experiences allow Calveri to bring a theatrical element to the band which separates them from the crowd. His unique vocal style and wild stage performance is a perfect fit for Machine Elves, utilizing the rock star persona of his Broadway character in an original band setting. Described by fans as “eclectic, quirky, and always entertaining”, the band has a sound that transcends categorization. Incorporating the use of various mind-bending effects, solid rhythms, wacky lead guitar lines, and even a Megaphone, one would find it very difficult to tie Machine Elves down to a particular “genre”. But whatever your flavor of choice, Machine Elves keeps it interesting while maintaining their hard rock roots, and their collective musical experience certainly comes out in their stage show. The band puts a lot of effort into their performances, regardless of the venue or the size of the audience. They have been known to showcase dancers, guest singers, and at times the occasional crowd member or two during their live set, which is highly energetic and tailored specifically to pump up the crowd and promote good old-fashioned fun. Machine Elves’ debut album, Fancy Suits And Cigarettes, was released in April of 2012 and is available on iTunes, Amazon MP3 and CD Baby, among others. The album was well received by critics, who offered shining testimonials praising the band's explosive, quirky sound. “Upon receiving Machine Elves’ debut full-length CD “Fancy Suits & Cigarettes”, I was shocked to find out that this band has not been signed to a major label. After listening to every track, I assumed that this was the bands choice to remain Independent, as any label to pass on signing them must be completely insane. Either that, or just plain hard of hearing.” -L.J.White/Justin Sane CEO/PR/Promoter, C.N.E.U. Radio (May 22, 2012) "Machine Elves might just be Brooklyn’s answer to Muse, but with amps that go to eleven.” - Mikey Assarad, Vice Magazine (Aug 26,2012) “Imagine a roller coaster ride blasting Pink Floyd through a Queensryche concert while sitting next to AC/DC and Motley Crue. Take that ultimate party soundtrack and light it on fire. ME’s first attempt is much more than just ‘sounds like’s’ and ‘reminds me of’s’. They’re a personality, not a genre.” - Stina Marie Harris, Soundsphere Magazine (Jan 08, 2013) The band's highly anticipated sophomore album, "The Unbelievable Destruction of the Egomaniac", is available now on iTunes, Amazon and CD Baby. New York party rock, the way it SHOULD be.
